Product Owner Retail POS Team

Position Overview

Product Owner

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, store operations, engineering, UX, and third-party vendors to ensure our POS systems are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with both customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Backlog Ownership

    : Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog for Retail POS initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and store operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    : Act as the primary liaison between retail operations, business partners, and the development team, translating business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Vision & Strategy

    : Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for POS, ensuring alignment with the companys retail and omni-channel strategy.
  • Feature Delivery

    : Work with engineering and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of POS features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • User-Centered Design

    : Gather feedback from store associates and customers to drive improvements in usability and efficiency.
  • Market & Tech Awareness

    : Stay informed about retail POS trends, payment technologies, and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, digital wallets, self-checkout).
  • Metrics & Reporting

    : Define and monitor KPIs to measure adoption, efficiency, and impact of POS enhancements.
  • Agile Leadership

    : Champion agile practices, lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and product demos.

Qualifications

  • Education

    : Bachelors degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience

    :
    • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in retail or POS-related projects.
    • Strong understanding of

      retail store operations

      , POS systems, and payment solutions.
    • Hands-on experience working in

      Agile/Scrum

      environments.
  • Skills

    :
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage competing priorities.
    • Familiarity with POS platforms, ERP, inventory, loyalty, and payment integrations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with

    omni-channel retail solutions

    (e.g., BOPIS, endless aisle, returns across channels).
  • Knowledge of

    cloud-based POS systems

    and API-driven integrations.
  • Exposure to

    store hardware

    (registers, payment terminals, scanners, mobile POS).
  • Certifications:

    CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe Product Owner/Manager
