Product Owner Retail POS Team Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Product Owner to join our Retail Technology team, focusing on Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions . The Product Owner will play a critical role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering features that enhance in-store retail experiences, streamline operations, and support our omni-channel strategy. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, store operations, engineering, UX, and third-party vendors to ensure our POS systems are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with both customer and business needs. Key Responsibilities Product Backlog Ownership : Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog for Retail POS initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and store operations. Stakeholder Collaboration : Act as the primary liaison between retail operations, business partners, and the development team, translating business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. Vision & Strategy : Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for POS, ensuring alignment with the companys retail and omni-channel strategy. Feature Delivery : Work with engineering and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of POS features, enhancements, and bug fixes. User-Centered Design : Gather feedback from store associates and customers to drive improvements in usability and efficiency. Market & Tech Awareness : Stay informed about retail POS trends, payment technologies, and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, digital wallets, self-checkout). Metrics & Reporting : Define and monitor KPIs to measure adoption, efficiency, and impact of POS enhancements. Agile Leadership : Champion agile practices, lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and product demos. Qualifications Education : Bachelors degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (MBA preferred). Experience : 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in retail or POS-related projects. Strong understanding of retail store operations , POS systems, and payment solutions. Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Skills : Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage competing priorities. Familiarity with POS platforms, ERP, inventory, loyalty, and payment integrations. Preferred Skills Experience with omni-channel retail solutions (e.g., BOPIS, endless aisle, returns across channels). Knowledge of cloud-based POS systems and API-driven integrations. Exposure to store hardware (registers, payment terminals, scanners, mobile POS). Certifications: CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe Product Owner/Manager . The Retail Domain Architect will partner with business and technology stakeholders to design solutions that enhance efficiency, enable omnichannel experiences, and drive business growth. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain the retail domain architecture roadmap, covering POS, e-commerce, CRM, ERP, merchandising, and supply chain systems. Translate retail business needs (in-store, online, omnichannel) into scalable and future-ready technology solutions. Collaborate with Enterprise, Data, and Integration Architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Evaluate and recommend retail platforms, tools, and technologies that deliver agility, scalability, and enhanced customer experiences. Govern technology choices, ensuring compliance with security, integration, and performance standards. Lead solution design for major retail initiatives including omnichannel, digital payments, loyalty, and personalization. Stay ahead of emerging retail tech trends (AI-driven retail, mobile POS, digital twins, RFID, IoT) and assess their impact. Define KPIs to measure technology effectiveness in enabling retail operations and customer experiences. Key Competencies & Behaviors Deep understanding of retail business processes: merchandising, inventory, supply chain, in-store operations, and customer engagement. Target Background Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 1014 years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in retail technology architecture. Strong knowledge of omnichannel retail architectures and integrations across physical and digital channels. Hands-on exposure to cloud-based retail platforms and APIs. Experience in large-scale retail or e-commerce organizations (preferred).
