Product Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. New Model Planning

• Prepare business/product proposals for new ICE models.
  
• Lead lifecycle management (LCM) activities including

  trim planning, feature planning, variant planning, and volume planning

  .
• Conduct

  competition benchmarking

  , technology scans, and market analysis.
• Define

  product positioning, pricing strategy

  , and target customer segments.
• Build and maintain feature roadmaps aligned with long-term product strategy.
  

2. Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy

• Prepare and deliver

  product guides, product briefings, training materials

  , and launch presentations.
• Support GTM readiness for new model introductions and major upgrades.
  
• Coordinate with marketing & sales for seamless launch execution.
  

3. Product Lifecycle Management

• Prepare

  MY (Mid-Year)

  and

  FL (Facelift)

  refresh plans.
• Align cross-functional teams (HMC, HMI Plant, R&D, Quality) for timely execution of MY/FL changes.
  
• Collect and analyze

  market feedback, dealer inputs, customer surveys, and media reviews

  .
• Recommend corrective measures to improve product performance and competitiveness.
  

4. Cost Optimization Initiatives

• Review and evaluate

  cost reduction proposals

  from engineering, sourcing, and quality teams.
• Ensure cost initiatives protect product USP, performance, and customer perception.
  
• Support business case approvals for cost and feature changes.
  

5. Technology & Feature Planning

• Study new automotive technologies, features, and UX enhancements.
  
• Track competitor launches, global technology trends, and regulatory impacts.
  
• Propose technology adoption plans and mid-term strategy improvements.
  
• Collaborate with engineering to refine feature specifications based on customer needs.
  

6. Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance

• Track upcoming

  policy, emission, and safety regulation

  changes.
• Prepare regulatory impact assessments and action plans.
  
• Coordinate with global teams (HMC/HMIE/HMI) to ensure compliance without affecting volumes.
  

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, design, sourcing, marketing, quality, plant, and finance teams.
  
• Drive alignment across stakeholders for successful product planning outcomes.
  
• Support executive reviews with product insights, data dashboards, and benchmarks.

Required Experience

• 512 years of experience in

  product planning, automotive engineering, product strategy, or lifecycle management

  .
• Strong exposure to passenger vehicle industry (ICE/EV).
  

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent analytical and market research skills.
  
• Strong understanding of

  automotive features, technologies, and customer expectations

  .
• Ability to interpret market insights, product data, and consumer behavior.
  
• Proficiency in competitive benchmarking, pricing logic, and feature evaluation.
  
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-handling skills.
  
• Strong coordination skills and ability to work with global teams.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical or related field).
  
• MBA in Marketing/Strategy (preferred but not mandatory).
  
• Experience in

  product lifecycle management, MY/FL planning, GTM readiness

  .
• Experience using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, JIRA, or PLM systems.
