Job Description

As a Product Development Engineer - Exterior, your role involves leading sub system engineers and ensuring the deliverables for all aspects of defined component(s) / system(s) within the Exteriors Domain. Your responsibilities include: - Demonstrating excellent communication skills and proficiency in tools such as CATIA V5/V6, 3DExperience, Teamcenter Visualization Mock-up, DFMEA, Six Sigma, Agile or Scrum, Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc. - Showcasing project management capability by delivering projects in line with time, cost, quality & attribute targets. - Applying extensive experience in the development and integration of components like Underbody (e.g. Aero trays, Wheel arch liners, Heatshields, Active Vanes / shutters, Upstream duct, Brake duct, Secondary Bulkhead, NVH pads, ADL, Metal brackets). - Managing and challenging system, sub-system, and component costs through engineering knowledge and decision-making process. - Leading commodity delivery and coordinating Manufacturing, CAE & Validation Teams effectively. - Ensuring Regulatory compliance of system, sub-system, and components. Additionally, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Establishing, planning, and running engineering sub system meetings with appropriate cross functional representation. - Progressing design maturity from initial concept through to Engineering Sign-Off and design gateways. - Ensuring system, sub-system, and components meet cost and weight targets. - Defining appropriate engineering targets to meet function, quality, and attribute requirements for the Vehicle Program. - Developing and maintaining the design validation plan (DVP) including in-house and supplier testing plan. - Leading Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews, and DFA/DFM reviews. - Managing Suppliers to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle program timing and attribute targets. - Supporting Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities. - Supporting vehicle launch and pre-production builds. - Applying APQP effectively to manage system/component delivery. Your Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field along with 8-12 years of experience makes you an ideal candidate for this role based in Pune.,
