Product Development & Agronomy Officer

As a Product Development & Agronomy Officer specializing in Seeds, your role will involve planning and executing on-farm seed trials, engaging with farmers and R&D partners, and supporting the evaluation and positioning of new seed varieties. Your contribution is crucial in introducing high-performing, adaptable seed products to diverse agro-climatic zones. - Plan and execute multi-location seed trials across targeted regions and crops. - Maintain scientific protocols for trial design, crop observations, and yield evaluations. - Coordinate with farmers, field staff, and institutional partners for timely trial execution. - Conduct crop demonstrations and field days to showcase varietal performance. - Compile trial data and performance summaries to support varietal selection and product launch. - Provide technical training and support to internal teams and channel partners. - Gather insights on farmer preferences, competitor seed products, and regional agronomic trends. - Support the preparation of technical documents, crop guides, and field manuals. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Agriculture or a related field. - Minimum 2-4 years of experience in seed trials and product development. - Hands-on experience with field-level execution and farmer engagement. As a Product Development & Agronomy Officer Seeds, you will need to possess strong knowledge of crop agronomy and seed performance metrics, the ability to manage field activities, trials, and data collection independently, effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially with farmers and rural stakeholders, proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and willingness to travel extensively across field locations. Please note that this is a full-time position with a fixed morning shift work schedule, and the work location is in person.,
