Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Task Management-

• Develop, hone and execute new improved procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing
• Evaluate and enhance our operations in local spend while researching and prospecting developments in global spend
• Delegate tasks and supervise the work of sourcing and procurement agents across all departments
• Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify the senior management team of any possible obstacles to ideal efficiency
• Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce our overall expenses while increasing productivity
• Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
• Well versed with the local and global OEMs/Suppliers of commodities like electronic/ electrical components, Wire harness, outsource activity .
• Coordinate deliveries to ensure zero production loss and ensure compliance to customer’s delivery commitments.
• Create policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation
• Knowledge of business process outsourcing.
• Vendor Development: Identify and developing potential vendors at International & domestic level for the right sourcing and achieving cost effective procurement of materials.
• Well versed with complete life cycle management of the products and must be able to contribute in cost effective and timely manner towards:
• New Product Introduction
• R&D during the designing of product and proto build to meet the timelines defined by Company/Customer.
• Ramping up the bulk production
• Support services team in maintaining the product in field by providing timely support with regard to availability of spares
• To maintain a system for measurement of supplier performance and give timely feedback to the suppliers for perceived improvement.
• Maintain knowledge of Import/Export regulations and ensure compliance with the regulations.
• Knowledge of local taxation and ensure its compliance.
• Knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics including Inco terms.
• Knowledge of customs processes and hands on to customs tariff for various commodities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support & lead process improvement activities, perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Independently determine approach and assigned tasks

Relationship Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships at highest level with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
• Communicate efficiently throughout the shop floor and with own and customer’s management
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
• Diplomatic approach to relationships

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• B. Tech (Electronics/Telecommunications/ Electrical) with experience of around 12 years.
• Having substantial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
• Lean skills & Six Sigma
• Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
