GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer of Zero Trust Networks to design, implement, and make continuous improvements of our Zero Trust Solutions & Architecture. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of GSK s digital infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Your responsibilities include:

Develop and execute GSK s Zero Trust Network solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cybersecurity best practices.

Design, implement, and manage Zero Trust Network solutions, including perimeter security, network segmentation, identity and access management, and continuous monitoring.

Collaborate with IT, security, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of Zero Trust principles across the organization.

Assist in risk assessments and threat modeling to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.

Implement security policies, standards, and procedures related to Zero Trust Network architecture and tools and technologies.

Provide expert guidance and mentorship to cybersecurity team members and other IT personnel on Zero Trust principles and practices.

Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Zero Trust and cybersecurity, and recommend enhancements to GSK s security posture.

Coordinate with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate third-party Zero Trust solutions.

Participate with incident response efforts related to network security breaches, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Strong understanding and appreciation of automation tooling in the Zero Trust space and Connectivity solutions.

Prepare and present reports on Zero Trust Network initiatives, performance metrics, and security incidents to senior management.
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 to 14 years of experience in networking, with at least 5 years focused on network security.

Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles, frameworks, and technologies, including network segmentation, micro-segmentation and identity and access management.

Proven experience designing and implementing Zero Trust Network solutions in a complex, global enterprise environment.

In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat landscape, and regulatory requirements (eg, GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).

Proficiency with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent industry certifications are highly desirable.

Professional certifications in Security products like Firewalls ( Palo Alto ), SSE ( Zscaler ), Segmentation ( Elisity , Tetrate), Routing & Switching (Cisco, Juniper), Cloud (Azure, GCP) etc are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical or similar industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.

Experience with management of environments with 100K plus users

Skilled in Firewalls, Networks, operating systems and database administration.

Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.

Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
