Job Description

Role Overview: As a Principal Engineer - Mechanical at Arcadis, your role will involve owning Technical Delivery and Project Management responsibilities. This includes overseeing the work and development of multiple colleagues on complex projects, managing analysis and design production, and ensuring quality assurance and effective communication with clients. You will also engage with regional offices, develop technical methodologies, review work, and drive a culture of accountability within the team. Key Responsibilities: - Own Technical Delivery and Project Management responsibilities - Oversee work and development of multiple colleagues on complex projects - Manage analysis and design production, including drawings and reports - Allocate technical resources, ensure quality assurance, and facilitate effective communication with clients - Engage with regional offices, develop technical methodologies, and review work within the team - Liaise with project managers, ensure commercial aspects align with design tasks, and provide technical advice - Manage design Health & Safety and handle task management activities for the team Qualifications Required: - Engineer with Post Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering - Minimum 14 years of relevant experience in design of water and wastewater treatment systems, drainage, and pumping stations - Registered or accredited professional, preferably MIMechE with CEng/IEng or chartered/ incorporated member of a relevant professional organization - Knowledge of quality management systems, project team management, and relevant British Standards - Strong command of BIM/digital/data analytics software - Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, motivate, and delegate effectively - Experience in mechanical design, specifications, and drawings for large-scale projects related to water and wastewater systems Arcadis is committed to empowering every individual to be their best and values the unique contributions of each team member.
