Principal Consultant - Ecology

As a Senior Ecologist at WSP, you will lead and oversee the delivery of complex ecological data analysis and reporting across multiple projects and sectors. Your role will involve providing strategic direction and technical oversight for habitat loss/gain calculations, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, and ecological impact evaluations. You will champion the use of advanced digital tools such as GIS, remote sensing, and data visualization platforms to enhance ecological deliverables. Additionally, you will guide the development of habitat mitigation and compensation design plans, ensuring alignment with UK legislation and client expectations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and signing off on high-quality reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), BNG assessments, and Nature Conservation (NC) reports.
