Principal Architect

Role & responsibilities

The Principal Architect will lead the architectural design vision and execution across multiple high-end residential projects. You will own the design strategy, mentor the design team, ensure compliance with codes/standards, coordinate with engineering/MEP/construction teams, and uphold buildAhomes brand of excellence in living spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural design vision: conceptual design, faade, layout, spatial planning, architecture integration.
• Lead and guide a team of architects, designers and draughtsmen—from senior to junior levels.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their brief, budget, lifestyle and site context; translate into design deliverables.
• Prepare and review schematic designs, detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, working drawings and documentation.
• Ensure architectural designs are compliant with local building regulations, zoning laws, Vastu (if applicable), safety and sustainability standards.
• Coordinate closely with structural engineers, MEP consultants, interior/design teams, contractors and site teams to ensure constructability, quality, cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
• Conduct periodic site visits and design reviews during construction; resolve design/technical/sitecoordination issues on-site.
• Stay updated with materials, finishes, construction technologies, green building practices; drive continuous improvement in design process and quality.
• Review and approve shop drawings, architectural submittals, mockups, finishing samples; ensure design intent is maintained.
• Lead design presentations to clients and internal stakeholders; prepare visualisations, 3D models, renderings, and design narratives.
• Mentor and develop architectural team members: training, review of work, feedback, career growth.
• Contribute to business development: support client meetings, present past portfolio, help win new residential projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch).
