Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Precast Draughtsman based in Oragadam. The Precast Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, production drawings, mould drawings, and erection drawings for precast concrete elements. The role requires understanding of precast construction, detailing standards, and coordinating with engineering, production, and site teams.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in technical drawing and drafting using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software
• Understanding of structural design concepts and precast concrete systems
• Experience in reviewing and interpreting engineering plans and specifications
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to deliver precise drawings
• Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently
• Bachelor's degree or certification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
• Work experience in precast construction or related fields is highly advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

1.Preparation of Drawings:

Develop precast shop drawings, production drawings, reinforcement layouts, lifting points, and embedded item details. Prepare erection drawings, marking plans, and panel schedules. Create mould drawings for wall panels, beams, columns, slabs, stairs, façade panels, UHPC elements, etc.

Generate sectional details, cast-in plate drawings, lifting anchor layouts, and connection details.

2.⁠ ⁠Coordination & Drawing Review

Study architectural and structural drawings to extract precast requirements. Coordinate with design engineers to incorporate structural calculations into drawings.Communicate with production team, to resolve drawing-related issues.Make revisions and maintain drawing control as per engineering changes.

3.⁠ ⁠Reinforcement & Embedded Item Detailing

Prepare rebar detailing drawings, BBS information, and placement diagrams. Detail all inserts, sleeves, lifting anchors, brackets, conduits, and electrical provisions as required.Ensure correct cover, spacing, lap, hook lengths, and reinforcement standards.

4.⁠ ⁠Documentation & Standards

Maintain drawing logs, revision history, and document control.Follow company drafting standards, line weights, layers, and naming conventions. Prepare panel schedules including weight, volume, reinforcement mass, and cast orientation.
