Job Description

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

As our Funding Consultant, you'll drive the end-to-end pre-seed fundraising process to get us funded quickly and strategically. Responsibilities include:

  1. Investor Research and Targeting

    :
    • Identify and prioritize potential investors (e.g., angel networks like Indian Angel Network, edtech VCs like Blume Ventures, accelerators like NSRCEL, and government schemes like Startup India Seed Fund).
    • Build a customized investor database tailored to edtech and mentoring platforms.
  2. Pitch Deck and Materials Development

    :
    • Refine our pitch deck, financial projections, and business plan to highlight platforms unique market potential (India's $30B edtech sector), and traction goals.
    • Create compelling narratives for pre-seed pitches, emphasizing scalability and social impact.
  3. Outreach and Networking

    :
    • Conduct targeted outreach via emails, LinkedIn, and events (e.g., TechSparks or edtech meetups).
    • Secure introductions, meetings, and pitches with 20-30 high-potential investors.
  4. Negotiation and Closure

    :
    • Guide term sheet negotiations, due diligence, and deal closure.
    • Track progress with weekly reports and adjust strategies based on feedback.
  5. Strategy and Advisory

    :
    • Advise on fundraising best practices, including valuation, equity dilution, and post-funding milestones.
    • Help prepare for demo days or accelerator applications if applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a proven track record in early-stage fundraising. Must-haves include:

  • Experience

    :
    • Exp in startup fundraising, with at least 2 successful pre-seed raises (ideally in edtech, SaaS, or tech startups in India).
    • Demonstrated network in the Indian investor ecosystem (e.g., connections to angels, VCs, or government funds).
    • Active Investor Network:

      You have a strong, current network of contacts within the Indian startup investment community, particularly with active Angel Investors and Micro VCs.

We are open to a flexible compensation structure that aligns our success with yours. This will include a combination of:

  • A monthly retainer fee.
  • A success fee (commission) based on the total capital raised.
