Job Description

Key Responsibilities of a Mother Teacher (Pre-Primary): 1. Academic Responsibilities Introduce children to foundational concepts (alphabets, numbers, shapes, colors, etc.) through play-based learning. Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons using stories, rhymes, songs, and activities. Develop fine and gross motor skills through art, craft, drawing, painting, clay modeling, and physical exercises. Foster curiosity and creativity through experiential and activity-based teaching. Prepare teaching aids, visual charts, and activity material. 2. Classroom & Child Management Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Ensure classroom discipline in a loving and non-punitive manner. Monitor each child’s progress and adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs. Encourage sharing, cooperation, and respect among children. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and order in the classroom. 3. Child’s Emotional & Social Development Act as a motherly figure—providing comfort, security, and affection. Help children adjust to the school environment, especially first-time learners. Support the development of social skills such as sharing, helping, and teamwork. Identify any behavioral or emotional concerns early and provide guidance. 4. Parent-Teacher Communication Maintain regular communication with parents about the child’s academic and emotional progress. Conduct parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) and share observations. Provide guidance to parents on extending learning and discipline at home. 5. Administrative & Reporting Work Maintain attendance records, progress reports, and assessment sheets. Decorate bulletin boards, charts, and displays to create a lively classroom environment. Plan for celebrations of festivals, birthdays, and special days. Assist in school events, annual functions, and cultural programs. 6. Health, Safety & Hygiene Supervise children during meals, playtime, and restroom use. Instill good habits like washing hands, proper eating manners, and cleanliness.
