Role & responsibilities

Production Planning and Scheduling

1. Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.

2. Coordinate with sales, marketing, and customer service to understand demand forecasts and incorporate them into the production plan.

3. Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and throughput.

4. Monitor production performance against the schedule and take corrective action to address any deviations.

5. Ensure timely release of production orders and monitor their progress through the manufacturing process.

6. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize production processes and reduce lead times.

Inventory Management

1. Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.

2. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize obsolescence, spoilage, and stockouts.

3. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

4. Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

5. Manage the material review board (MRB) process to address non-conforming materials.

6. Oversee the cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

1. Utilize MRP systems (specifically SAP PP Module) to plan and manage material requirements.

2. Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material needs.

3. Generate purchase requisitions for raw materials and components.

4. Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials.

5. Coordinate with procurement to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.

6. Maintain accurate material master data in the ERP system.

Supply Chain Management

1. Collaborate with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.

2. Monitor supplier performance and identify potential risks to supply continuity.

3. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

4. Participate in supplier audits and evaluations.

5. Work with logistics providers to optimize transportation and warehousing costs.

6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to supply chain management.

Reporting and Analysis

1. Prepare and present regular reports on production planning, inventory management, and supply chain performance.

2. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

3. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress against goals.

4. Provide insights and recommendations to management on how to improve operational efficiency.

5. Conduct root cause analysis of any issues or problems that arise.

6. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production planning and inventory control.

Compliance and Quality

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including GMP and FDA guidelines.

2. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to production planning and inventory control.

3. Participate in internal and external audits.

4. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product quality.

5. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues.
