Role Description

A Power Industry Trainer at the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) would be responsible for developing and delivering training programs related to power trading and the energy market. This role would focus on educating participants, including traders, analysts, and other stakeholders, on the intricacies of the IEX platform, market operations, and regulatory aspects of the power sector. The trainer would create and update training materials, conduct both online and in-person sessions, and assess the effectiveness of training programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development:

• Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, manuals, and online modules, covering various aspects of power trading on the IEX platform.

• Training Delivery:

• Conduct training sessions for diverse audiences, including new members, existing participants, and other stakeholders, utilizing various delivery methods (online, in-person, blended learning).

• Market Knowledge:

• Possess a strong understanding of power market dynamics, trading mechanisms (DAM, RTM, etc.), regulatory frameworks (CERC), and the role of IEX in the Indian energy landscape.

• Technical Expertise:

• Familiarize oneself with the IEX platform, including trading interfaces, market information systems, and related technologies.

• Training Effectiveness:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback mechanisms, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with various teams within IEX, including market operations, business development, and technology, to ensure training content is relevant and up-to-date.

• Industry Awareness:

• Stay abreast of the latest trends, developments, and regulatory changes in the power sector, incorporating them into training programs. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of the power industry and power trading mechanisms.

• Experience in training and development, particularly in a technical or market-related field.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in developing training materials and delivering engaging sessions.

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and stay updated with industry changes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• 2-3 years Experience with IEX platform or similar energy trading platforms is a plus.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
