Job Description:

  • Seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases while ensuring high availability, performance, and security across environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in hybrid environments (on-premise and AWS).
  • Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and migration using industry best practices.
  • Monitor database health, optimize queries, and manage performance tuning.
  • Implement security measures, access controls, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Design and manage database structures to support business applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams for database automation and CI/CD integration.
  • Support production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and proactive database management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud (RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.).
  • Experience in database replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin, pgBouncer, and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
