PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases in development, staging, and production environments.
  
• Design and optimize schema structures, indexes, and SQL queries for high performance and scalability.
  
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization using tools like EXPLAIN, ANALYZE, and pg_stat_statements.
  
• Set up and manage PostgreSQL backup and recovery procedures.
  
• Implement and monitor high availability and replication strategies (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication).
  
• Manage and optimize

  MongoDB

  clusters, including replica sets, indexes, and query tuning.
• Deploy and manage PostgreSQL and MongoDB in

  AWS environments

  using services such as RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  
• Implement role-based access control, encryption, and other security best practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering

  PostgreSQL

  databases.
• Strong expertise in

  SQL

  ,

  PL/pgSQL

  , and advanced

  indexing

  and

  query tuning

  techniques.
• Solid experience with

  MongoDB

  administration and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of

  AWS

  database services (RDS, EC2, IAM, etc.).
• Experience with replication, disaster recovery planning, and failover strategies.
  
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  
• Proficient in analyzing logs, monitoring database health, and maintaining uptime.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
  
• Certifications in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or AWS are a plus.
  
• Exposure to large-scale, high-volume database environments.
