Political Journalist

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Political Journalist with strong expertise in policy research & reporting . The role involves investigating, analyzing, and reporting on political developments, legislative processes, government policies, and their impact on society. The ideal candidate combines journalistic storytelling skills with a solid understanding of governance, public affairs, and policy issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, investigate, and report on political events, elections, legislative debates, and policy changes.
• Conduct in-depth interviews with policymakers, political leaders, experts, and stakeholders.
• Analyze government policies, political trends, and their implications for diverse audiences.
• Write, edit, and publish clear, accurate, and engaging articles, reports, and opinion pieces.
• Monitor political developments, press releases, and government communications for timely reporting.
• Collaborate with editors, researchers, and multimedia teams to produce impactful stories.
• Uphold ethical journalism standards, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and balance.
• Leverage data, research, and field reporting to provide context and depth in coverage.
• Represent the publication/media outlet at press conferences, briefings, and public events.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or related field.
• Proven experience in political reporting, policy research, or related journalism.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Knowledge of political systems, governance, and legislative processes.
• Excellent interviewing, fact-checking, and analytical skills.
• Digital media proficiency (social media, multimedia tools, data journalism preferred).
• Commitment to ethical journalism and impartial reporting.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in a newsroom, think tank, or policy research organization.
• Coverage of elections, governance, or legislative processes.
• Familiarity with international and domestic political landscapes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
