PMO (Project Management Office) Lead

PMO (Project Management Office) Lead is a senior professional who manages the PMO itself, setting standards, processes, and strategies to ensure all projects align with business goals, guiding project managers, controlling resources, and ensuring successful, repeatable project delivery across an organization. They focus on how projects are run, not just a project, acting as a strategic leader for project management functions, standardizing methodologies, and mitigating overall risk for the company's projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Governance:

Defining PMO goals, developing governance, and aligning projects with business objectives.

• Process Development:

Creating, implementing, and enforcing project management frameworks, methodologies, and standards.

• Resource Management:

Overseeing resource allocation, capacity planning, and balancing workloads across projects.

• Support & Mentorship:

Coaching project managers, facilitating team building, and resolving conflicts.

• Monitoring & Reporting:

Tracking project status, monitoring performance, managing finances, and providing updates to stakeholders.

• Risk Management:

Identifying and helping teams address project-related challenges and risks.

Role Overview

Operations Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Project/s Planning & Estimation

• Project Planning working with

  effort estimation

  , cost models, timelines, and delivery roadmaps.
• Evaluate technical requirements with Project Director, engineering leads and prepare

  project budgets, and pricing

  versus cost budgets and time and financial performance.
• Standardize estimation frameworks for predictable and scalable delivery.

2. Agile / Scrum Management

• Oversee and manage Scrum across teams.
• Ensure teams follow Agile best practices: sprint planning, grooming, velocity management, and delivery tracking.
• Conduct periodic delivery reviews to ensure

  on-time and quality releases

• Resolve delivery impediments by coordinating with cross-functional teams.

3. Resource Deployment & Workforce Management

• Plan and allocate resources across multiple projects based on skill needs and availability.
• Optimize resource utilization to achieve ** >90% billable efficiency
• Forecast capacity needs and maintain bench planning strategies.

4. Profit & Loss (P&L) and Operational Governance

• Own the

  quarterly P&L

  for the software development business unit.
• Track revenue, cost, margins, billing, and operational KPIs.
• Identify deviations in budget, and take corrective actions proactively.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce operational costs and increase profitability.

5. Strategic Planning & Leadership

• Create annual operational strategy aligned with business goals.
• Implement process improvements (DevOps, automation, standard templates, use of AI).
• Build a high-performance engineering and delivery culture.
• Represent Operations in leadership meetings.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Certifications Preffered:

  PMP,

  Scrum Master, CSM/PSM, SAFe Agilist, ITIL
