Plumbing Technician Department: Maintenance / Facilities / Construction Reports To: Plumbing Supervisor / Maintenance Manager Job Summary: The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This includes water supply lines, drainage systems, and related appliances to ensure efficient and safe operation. Key Responsibilities:·         Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures. ·        Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues such as leaks or blockages. ·        Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. ·        Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing systems. ·        Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls and repair requests. ·        Collaborate with construction teams, electricians, and other tradespeople. ·        Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety standards and local codes. ·        Maintain records of materials used and work completed. ·        Assist in estimating time, materials, and labor costs for projects. Qualifications and Skills:·        High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred). ·        Proven experience as a plumber or plumbing technician. ·        Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment. ·        Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. ·        Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. ·        Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy tools and equipment. ·        Good communication and teamwork skills. ·        Valid plumbing license or certification (as per local regulations). Working Conditions: Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, confined spaces, or elevated areas. May require overtime or on-call duties during emergencies. Preferred Experience:·        10–12 years of plumbing experience in commercial or residential projects. ·        Knowledge of safety procedures and building regulations. ·        Experience with both PPR, PVC, and copper piping systems.
