Platform Engineer (APIM + Secrets)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Platform Engineer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in API Gateway Management, Azure API Management (APIM), and API development. The ideal candidate will also have experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform and a good understanding of secrets management using tools like Azure Key Vault. Azure Function App experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer API Gateway as a platform with a focus on Azure API Management (APIM).
• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate backend systems with APIs.
• Implement and manage Azure Function Apps as required.
• Securely manage secrets and credentials using Azure Key Vault.
• Automate platform infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
• Monitor API performance, security, and reliability.

Primary Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in API Gateway Management as a platform.
• Strong hands-on experience in Azure API Management (APIM).
• Proven API Development background using REST, OpenAPI, Swagger, etc.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Microsoft Azure AZ-204 Certification is mandatory.

Secondary/Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure Function Apps.
• Knowledge of Secrets Management (e.g., Azure Key Vault).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor or App Insights.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of API security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, etc.).
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
