Plant & Purchase Head

Role & responsibilities

• Plant Operations Management: Develop and execute plans to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant, including production planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and maintenance activities. Procurement & Sourcing: Lead initiatives to source new materials and suppliers that enhance the companys competitive advantage. Analyse market trends, pricing fluctuations, and economic indicators to make informed purchasing decisions. Continuously review and improve procurement processes,
• Vendor Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
• Commercial Operations & Logistics: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. quality, engineering, supply chain) to drive continuous improvement initiatives and solve operational issues.
• Inventory Management & Cost Control: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
• Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and developing the plant operations team to maximize performance and productivity.
• MIS & Reporting: Manage plant budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare reports on plant performance, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics. Preparing and presenting operational reports to senior management and identifying areas for improvement.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure seamless operations and effective communication across the plant.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering; MBA (Operations/Finance) preferred.
• 1518 years in manufacturing industry with at least 3–5 years in a plant leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
• Knowledge of brass components, lighting accessories, or hardware industry is advantageous.
