Plant Maintenance Manager

The position of Assistant Manager Mechanical within the CSM Agchem Business Division, Engineering Department, located in Jambusar, reports to the Senior Manager Mechanical at a Senior Staff level. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, execute, and oversee mechanical maintenance activities to ensure minimal breakdowns and safe, continuous operations that meet all statutory and organizational requirements within budget constraints and specified timelines. Collaborating with the Senior Manager Maintenance in preparing budgets for respective areas, the Assistant Manager must align performance with business and organizational objectives. Strategically, the Assistant Manager Mechanical supports the Senior Manager in providing techno-commercial insights related to plant and machinery, managing preventive and breakdown maintenance of various plant equipment, and optimizing manpower utilization for plant maintenance. Operationally, responsibilities include system management related to plant maintenance, monitoring documentation for ISO systems, ensuring accurate data entry in SAP Plant Maintenance Module, analyzing preventive and breakdown maintenance data, and meeting statutory and organizational requirements such as legal obligations concerning fired/pressure vessels, customer guidelines, and vendor liaison. Financial responsibilities encompass assisting in the preparation of CAPEX and plant maintenance budgets, as well as implementing cost-saving measures within the maintenance function. With an educational qualification of B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 8 to 10 years of work experience, candidates from chemical processed industries like Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Fine/Specialty Chemicals, or other chemical continuous process industries are preferred. Functional competencies required for the role include the ability to address frequent breakdowns in plant equipment, maintenance of chemical process equipment, and experience in handling various machinery such as MSGL equipment, RVD, ANF pumps with Mechanical seals, SS reactors, Ejector system, Blower, and Gearboxes. Interaction complexity and teamwork involve regular contact with GM-Engineering, PD, Projects, Production, Purchase, MR, Sr. Manager, Manager Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, HR, Production, and Supervisors in Production, Utility, and Maintenance departments. The Assistant Manager will also interact with internal customers including Sr. Manager, Manager, Asst. Manager, Supervisor, QA, Utility, Purchase, and Stores personnel as needed, in both technical and administrative capacities. External interactions with vendors may be required as part of the role.,
