Plant Head (Used Lube Oil Re-refining plant)

To oversee and manage all aspects of the used lube oil re-refining or recycling facility, ensuring efficient, safe, environmentally compliant, and profitable operations to produce high-quality base oil and/or finished lubricant products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production

• Operational Excellence:

  Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the plant (e.g., collection, pre-treatment, distillation/re-refining, blending, and quality control).

• Production Planning:

  Develop, implement, and monitor production plans to meet volume, quality, and cost targets, maximizing plant utilization and yield (e.g., base oil recovery).

• Process Management:

  Oversee the technical processes (e.g., Dehydration, Distillation, Bleaching/Hydrotreating) and implement strategies for continuous process improvement and cost optimization.

• Maintenance:

  Ensure a robust maintenance program (preventive, predictive, and corrective) for all plant machinery and equipment (e.g., reactors, distillation columns, storage tanks) to minimize downtime.

2. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

• Regulatory Compliance:

  Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and national environmental, health, and safety regulations, particularly those related to hazardous waste (used oil) management and emissions.

• Quality Control:

  Establish and enforce rigorous quality standards for incoming used oil feedstock and outgoing finished products (re-refined base oil and fuels) to meet required specifications (e.g., API standards).

• Safety Leadership:

  Cultivate a strong safety culture. Implement and manage safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry safety protocols.

3. Financial and Commercial Management

• Budget & P&L:

  Develop, manage, and control the plant's operational budget, capital expenditures, and overall Profit & Loss (P&L) performance.

• Cost Management:

  Identify and implement cost-saving measures in production, energy, raw material consumption, and waste disposal.

• Raw Material & Offtake:

  Coordinate with procurement and sales teams on the sourcing of used lube oil and the off-take/sale of finished products.

4. Leadership and People Management

• Team Management:

  Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary team, including production engineers, operators, technicians, and administrative staff.

• Performance:

  Set performance metrics, conduct reviews, and foster a high-performance environment.

• Stakeholder Relations:

  Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, vendors, customers, and the local community.
