Your role ensures that research outputs and documentation are accurate, accessible, and aligned.

As a Plant & Equipment Mechanical Specialist, you may specialize several civil, mechanical equipment and processes

You will provide engineering, technical support related to mechanical field for ongoing bidding, project start up, project delivery phase and technical studies.

Job Description

Key responsibilities

• Design the database schema for plant and equipment items specifications, ensuring scalability and ease of use
• Collect, validate, and input mechanical specifications, vendor data, cost estimates, and performance metrics
• Develop standardized data templates, naming conventions, and documentation guidelines
• Manage a central knowledge repository or database for all P&E research and documentation
• Coordinate with engineers, procurement specialists, and OEMs to clarify technical queries and source missing information
• Produce regular research reports, comparative analyses, and executive summaries for GSC teams
• Monitor industry standards, regulations, and best practices to keep documentation current
• Support bidding and project start up activities including engineering feasibility studies and procurement processes if required
• Ensuring that safety and environmental rules and programs are strictly adhered to and incorporated into P&E documentations
• Conceptualizing and recommending plant improvement strategies with relates documentation

Key result areas

• A fully populated library covering all Plant & Equipment items by project and typology.

Data base including specifications, data sheet, RFQ package, vendors, drawings, etc

• Complete and accurate research deliverables delivered within agreed timelines
• A searchable, up-to-date repository of equipment datasheets, vendor contacts, and technical reports
• Prepare comprehensive equipment lists and cost estimates.
• Write clear and effective proposals that accurately address plant and equipment requirements.
• Provide technical and research expertise to project teams regarding plant and equipment specifications and performance.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred), Technical Writing, Information Management or related field
• Strong knowledge of plant and equipment used in the construction and energy industry and their applications.

Minimum Experience

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations related to plant and equipment procurement and operation.
• 1–3 years in a research, documentation, or knowledge-management role within engineering or procurement environments
• Exposure to industrial plant & equipment specifications and tender processes
• Experience in preparing technical specifications and scope of work for plant and equipment procurement.
