Planning Head

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Control

• Establish

  project planning standards, systems, and controls

  across all projects
• Define

  WBS, milestones, baselines, and master schedules

• Align project plans with

  business objectives and contractual commitments

• Support bid & tender planning with execution strategy and timelines

2. Project Scheduling & Monitoring

• Prepare and review

  Master Schedules, Phase Schedules, Look-Ahead Plans

• Monitor

  progress, productivity, critical path, float consumption

• Analyse schedule variances and recommend

  corrective actions

• Ensure adherence to approved project timelines

3. Cost & Resource Planning

• Integrate planning with

  cost control, cash flow, and resource planning

• Monitor

  manpower, equipment, and material deployment

• Support finance teams with

  billing forecasts and cash flow projections

4. Risk Management & Delay Analysis

• Identify project risks and mitigation measures
• Conduct

  delay analysis (EOT claims, acceleration planning)

• Support claims team with

  time impact analysis (TIA)

• Maintain risk registers and early-warning systems

5. MIS & Reporting

• Develop and maintain

  weekly / monthly MIS dashboards

• Present progress reports to

  top management and clients

• Ensure data accuracy across sites and HO

6. Contract & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with

  Contracts, Engineering, Procurement, Execution, QA/QC

• Support contract administration with

  schedule-linked obligations

• Participate in client review meetings and steering committees

7. Digital Tools & Systems

• Implement and optimize planning tools such as:

• Primavera P6 / MS Project

• ERP integration
• Drive adoption of

  digital planning & reporting systems

8. Team Leadership & Governance

• Lead and mentor planning teams across multiple projects
• Set KPIs and conduct performance reviews
• Build planning capability and succession pipeline

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Primavera P6, MS Project (Expert level)
• Delay Analysis, EOT, TIA
• Cost & schedule integration
• Infrastructure execution knowledge.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech

  (Civil) with at least 18+ years of experience.

• MBA / M.Tech (Project Management)

  Preferred
• Certification in

  Primavera / PMP

  – Advantage
