Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop detailed baseline project schedules (using Primavera/MS Project) covering design, procurement, construction, and handover.
  • Align project plans with business objectives, contractual milestones, and resource availability.
  • Update and maintain master schedules for multiple projects.

Monitoring & Progress Control

  • Track actual progress against planned schedules.
  • Highlight slippages, delays, and critical path variations to project heads.
  • Recommend corrective/preventive actions to ensure timely completion.

Cost & Resource Management

  • Integrate cost control and budget monitoring with project schedules.
  • Forecast resource requirements (manpower, equipment, materials) based on project timelines.
  • Optimize resource utilization to reduce idle time and wastage.

Risk Management & Mitigation

  • Identify risks affecting timelines, costs, or quality.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support management in claims/extension of time (EOT) justifications.

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with project managers, contracts, procurement, architects, and consultants for schedule alignment.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly dashboards, MIS, and progress reports for senior management and clients.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure planning processes comply with company standards, ISO, and project specifications.
  • Validate contractor/consultant schedules and progress reports.
  • Support audits and documentation requirements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor junior planning engineers and site planning staff.
  • Develop SOPs and templates for project planning and monitoring.
  • Conduct internal training on project planning tools and best practices.

Project Closure & Lessons Learned

  • Prepare as-built schedules and project closure reports.
  • Document lessons learned for future projects.
  • Ensure timely handover documentation to clients/management.
