This is a strategic leadership role requiring a seasoned professional with deep expertise in heavy steel fabrication, team management, operational excellence, and client coordination. The selected candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end functioning of a large-scale production facility with a fabrication capacity of 3,000 MT/month, covering fabrication, assembly, painting, billing, and documentation for a diverse range of heavy steel structures. Role & responsibilities Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in Heavy Steel Structure Fabrication, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding procedures, inspection methods, and relevant codes/standards (IS, AWS, etc.). Proven experience in managing production units with capacities exceeding 2,0003,000 MT/month. Effective leadership, communication, and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration. Experience in liaising with major clients like BHEL, including documentation and approval processes. Exceptional project management and data analysis skills. Expertise in fabrication processes , interpreting engineering drawings, and implementing quality control standards. Strong understanding of welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, SAW) and gas cutting methods. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.) and interpreting fabrication drawings. Experience with CNC machinery and advanced fabrication equipment. Familiarity with material handling techniques and equipment. Knowledge of quality control standards (e.g., ASME, AWS). Experience with industry-specific software for project and resource management. Strong analytical, planning , and forecasting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in sheet metal plant operations . Prior experience in a related manufacturing industry is essential. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in fabrication.

Develop baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and resource loading plans. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication yard, and erection teams to ensure smooth execution. Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies. Prepare, review, and present monthly MIS / project progress reports . Integrate procurement planning, yard setup, manpower, and machinery requirements into project schedules. Provide management with detailed forecasts, variance analysis, and decision-support reports. Lead and mentor the planning team, providing technical and professional guidance. Develop fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and GA drawings for heavy steel structures Preferred candidate profile B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering . 10-15 years of proven experience in planning and execution of heavy steel fabrication & erection projects. Strong expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, Auto CAD (knowledge of other planning tools will be an advantage). Proficiency in Auto CAD, Tekla, SDS/2, or similar detailing software . Hands-on experience with planning for fabrication yards, industrial plants, bridges, or heavy structures . Excellent leadership, coordination, communication, and analytical skills.

The role involves planning, coordinating, and optimizing inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and fabricated structures, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, safety, and compliance Role & responsibilities Plan and manage transportation of raw materials and finished steel structures, including ODC (Over Dimensional Cargo). Oversee warehouse, yard, and dispatch operations ensuring safety and efficiency. Optimize logistics cost and ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries. Manage vendor contracts, negotiations, and coordination with rail/road/port authorities. Ensure statutory compliance (RTO, customs, GST, pollution control). Implement ERP/SAP systems for tracking, scheduling, and dispatch management. Drive continuous improvement in fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and logistics performance. Lead logistics & dispatch teams, ensuring strong vendor and stakeholder coordination. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the fabrication drawings team for heavy steel structures. The role involves managing detailing activities, ensuring drawing accuracy, optimizing material usage, and coordinating with production and project teams. Role & responsibilities Lead and manage a team of engineers & draftsmen. Review, approve & release fabrication/shop drawings. Ensure accuracy in dimensions, welding/bolted connections & tolerances. Prepare BOMs, cutting plans & optimize material usage. Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality & Erection teams. Maintain revision control and ensure compliance with codes & client specifications. Key Deliverables Error-free, shop-ready fabrication drawings. Optimized BOM & cutting plans for material savings. Timely release of drawings aligned with project schedules. Zero rework through accurate, practical detailing.
