Candidate will be responsible for detailed design through the development of contract specifications and contract administration. Position will require extensive interface with equipment suppliers/vendors, and with project managers, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailers locally in the Mumbai office as well as remotely in various offices in the United States. Following are some specific duties & responsibilities: Coordinating project design assignments and design teams Coordinating across the disciplines Providing leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to the team and less experienced staff members Functional coordination and reviews of detailed pipe routing for conformance with system design requirements including pipe support selection/placement Administer equipment contracts (change evaluation, coordinate schedules, coordinate technical issues) Close coordination with US team communicating project status and responsible for project quality, schedule, budget and cost Participation in model review and resolving clashes with other disciplines Constructabilty reviews, Coordination with site if required Regularly meeting and corresponding with clients or outside stake holders Participating in Internal/External project audits Ability to handle power projects independently and capable of closely working with US team - This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of interpreting and developing solutions to complex problems. Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited program Minimum 12-16 years of related experience with exposure to piping design, pump selection, rotating equipment and process design Candidate with exposure system design incl. piping & instrumentaion diagrams, hydraulic analysis, control valve, pump selection, rotating equipment and process design Experience in developing equipment specifications, technical bid evaluating, procuring, reviewing vendor drawings and factory acceptance testing of mechanical equipment. Software experience utilizing AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks is preferred. Aspen Hysys would be an added advantage. Familiar with power industry codes and standards including ASME B31.1, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections I and Section VIII. Candidate with Field construction and commissioning experience will have added advantage. Proficient in the English language and must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Previous consulting engineering experience preferred.

Detail engineering of Post-order activities of Industrial Refrigeration Systems (Ammonia, propylene and/or freon refrigerants like R22/R404A/R449A/R507 for sub zero temperature / cooling applications, Ammonia BOG applications etc. , ) Review, coordinate with customer, and get approval for PID, 3D modeling, GA drawing, Layout during post order Submission of engineering documents to customer, check manufacturing drawings before release, equipment design verification, valve selection etc. for hazardous (Zone 1 / Zone 2 area, Gas Group IIA/IIB T3) safe area applications Design Pressure vessel, Heat Exchanger, piping design as per Code standards, customer RFQ/MR documents, get approval from customer on applicable drawings, release fabrication drawings and BOM for manufacturing Knowledge of HTRI for heat exchanger design is essential Base frame, support structure design etc and coordinate with vendors for outsourced detail engineering activities like Stress analysis, Structural analysis etc. , Datasheet preparation of mechanical bought-out items like valves, static equipments, insulation etc. , and release for procurement Support to estimation team during pre-sales like review of tender documents, equipment sizing etc. ,
