Job Description

As a PGA Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist for U14-U16 at Charlton Athletic Football Club, your role involves providing medical care for Girls Academy Players including pitch-side first aid, player assessment, and rehabilitation. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the players, acting as an advocate and guardian of the women's game. Key Responsibilities: - Liaise with coaching staff regarding players" injury status and availability - Attend training sessions and matches throughout the season - Assess and manage injuries and illnesses of Girls Academy Players - Provide treatment and rehabilitation to players - Design and deliver individual injury prevention programs - Keep records meeting the standards required by The FA and professional bodies - Conduct medical screening of trialists and Academy players - Manage referrals for Girls Academy players - Communicate with parents/carers regarding physiotherapy/sports therapy queries - Ensure compliance with physiotherapy/sports therapy guidelines and best practices - Maintain clean treatment areas and identify health and safety risks Education/Qualifications/Training: - Experience working in sports medicine - Knowledge of anti-doping regulations and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedures - Physiotherapists: Chartered and registered with HCPC, full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification - Sports Therapists: Full membership of Society of Sports Therapy, full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification - Sports Rehabilitation: Registered member of BASRaT, full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification, FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football, FA Safeguarding Children, FA DBS Desirable: - Additional qualifications and memberships in relevant professional bodies - Engage in professional development activities - Seek feedback and reflect on personal performance for improvement - Stay updated on current research and evidence-based practices in sports therapy - Create and maintain a personalized Development Action Plan - Work with an advisor or mentor from outside the organization Additional Information: - This is a casual role with fixed hours including weekends and evenings - Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK - Commitment to health & safety regulations, safeguarding, and promoting welfare of children and young people Charlton Athletic Football Club is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of individuals, and as a successful candidate, you will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
