JOB SUMMARY

Permitting Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain and manage all required permits for telecom and utility projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all permitting-related matters, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide guidance on jurisdictional conformance checks and address compliance issues proactively.
• Work closely with clients to manage expectations and provide updates on permitting progress.
• Represent the company in client meetings and municipal hearings as required.
• Handle escalations effectively, providing solutions for complex permitting challenges.
• Lead and mentor the permitting team, monitoring KPIs and providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and expedite permit approvals.
• Review and approve billing for permitting.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports, dashboards, and tracking systems for permit submissions and approvals.
• Ensure accurate documentation of permitting processes and approvals for future reference and audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices for permitting workflows.
• Provide feedback to senior management on team performance and operational enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry,
• Minimum of 5 years of permitting experience.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.
• Proven track record of managing multiple, concurrent permitting projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, teams, and regulatory authorities.
• Ability to identify and resolve permitting challenges efficiently.
• Experience collaborating with local jurisdictions, municipalities, and other regulatory bodies.
• Familiarity with GIS tools and permitting systems is highly desirable.
