Role Overview

Perl development

Key Responsibilities

• Convert and adapt existing application code from

  Sybase to MS SQL Server

  .
• Develop, maintain, and optimize code in

  Perl

  and

  Python

  .
• Ensure code compatibility across different databases and systems.
• Utilize

  ADO/Git

  and release management best practices throughout the development cycle.
• Collaborate with the team to support automation initiatives and system monitoring/alerting.
• Deliver clean, sustainable, and maintainable code.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Perl development

  .
• Good knowledge of

  Python programming

  .
• Proficiency in

  T-SQL / SQL Server

  development.
• Familiarity with

  ADO, Git, and release management practices

  .
• Problem-solving skills with attention to code efficiency and compatibility.

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  monitoring and alerting tools

  .
• Exposure to

  automation frameworks and tools

  .

Day-to-Day Expectation

• Focus on

  application code conversion

  between Sybase and MS SQL.
• Work extensively with

  Perl

  code, with opportunities to rewrite components in

  Python

  where feasible.
• Contribute to the teams long-term goal of migrating towards

  Python-based solutions
