The role focuses on high-level alignment with business objectives rather than the day-to-day execution of a single project. A successful candidate will combine expertise in the Pega platform with strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the Pega vision: Define and execute the long-term Pega strategy and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Manage the portfolio: Centralize the intake, prioritization, and management of all Pega-related programs and projects to maximize business value and return on investment (ROI).
  • Govern the portfolio: Establish and enforce governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across all Pega implementations.
  • Manage budgets: Develop, forecast, and manage annual and capital budgets for the entire Pega portfolio.
  • Evaluate performance: Analyze and report on the performance of the Pega portfolio using dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-driven decisions.

Leadership and client engagement:

  • Build relationships: Act as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders and build strong relationships with clients to understand their strategic goals.
  • Influence decisions: Provide thought leadership to guide business decisions and ensure optimal implementation of Pega systems.
  • Conduct pre-sales and consulting: Drive consulting assignments and support pre-sales activities by designing comprehensive Pega solutions.

Technical and architectural direction:

  • Define architecture: Guide technical architecture and design across the Pega portfolio, defining the strategy and overall vision for implementations.
  • Promote reusability: Focus on creating reusable Pega components across the portfolio to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance: Oversee solutions for compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements related to Pega applications.
  • Manage vendors and partners: Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and evaluation studies related to the Pega ecosystem.

Team and practice development:

  • Mentor and guide teams: Lead, mentor, and guide Pega architects, delivery leaders, and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Grow the practice: Nurture and grow Pega teams, building strong capabilities and developing talent within the organization.
  • Lead change management: Design and implement change management strategies to ensure the adoption of new Pega-driven processes.

Required skills and qualifications:

Experience and certifications:

  • A minimum of 15-20 years of IT experience, with a significant portion spent managing large-scale, enterprise-wide Pega implementations.
  • Expertise in the Pega Platform (versions 8 and higher), including Pega Express and case management.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) and managing projects using tools like Jira.
  • Possession of key Pega certifications, such as Pega Certification – SSA/CPDC/CPBA/CLSA.
  • Advanced degrees (MBA or Master's) or professional certifications (e.g., PfMP, PgMP) are often preferred for this senior-level role.

Technical expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of Pega's technical architecture, frameworks (e.g., Customer Service, CLM), and advanced features like Decisioning, AI, and RPA.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, integration methods (APIs), and deployment strategies for Pega on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Pega Cloud.

Leadership and soft skills:

  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage with both technical and C-suite audiences.
  • Strong financial acumen to evaluate ROI and manage large budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities to guide cross-functional teams.
  • A results-driven and collaborative attitude focused on customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
