Job Title: Panel Costing & Panel Wiring GA Drawing Designer
Department: Engineering / Design
Location: Ahmedabad
Reporting To: Design Head / Engineering Manager
Experience Required: 2 5 years (can be adjusted)
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or related field
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Panel Costing & GA Drawing Designer . The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical panels (MCC, PCC, APFC, VFD, etc.) and creating General Arrangement (GA) drawings for panel wiring using design software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
Key Responsibilities:
1. Costing:
  • Analyze project specifications, BOQs, and SLDs to prepare cost estimates for LT panels.
  • Select appropriate switchgear (e.g., Schneider, Siemens, L&T), cables, enclosures, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for vendor quotes and material pricing.
  • Prepare and update costing sheets for MCC, PCC, AMF, VFD, and other control panels.
  • Optimize panel design for cost-efficiency without compromising quality or standards.
2. GA Drawing & Wiring Layouts:
  • Prepare GA drawings and internal wiring layouts for control and power panels using AutoCAD/EPLAN.
  • Design panel layouts as per customer specifications and applicable standards (e.g., IEC, IS).
  • Develop terminal and cable schedules.
  • Ensure proper segregation of power and control wiring in the panel design.
  • Revise drawings based on customer feedback or internal review.
3. Documentation & Support:
  • Maintain drawing revisions and change management logs.
  • Support sales and project teams with technical documentation and design inputs.
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers or vendors as required.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D), knowledge of EPLAN will be a plus.
  • Good understanding of electrical components: ACB, MCCB, contactors, relays, PLCs, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical panel design standards and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with BOM preparation and costing tools (Excel/ERP-based).
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience in LT Panel manufacturing or system integration environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Schneider, Siemens, ABB, or L&T switchgear selection.
  • Exposure to industrial automation/control systems is a plus.
