Job Description

Package Engineer Mechanical & Piping The Package Engineers are part of the Designs Engineering Team, supporting LNG and Manufacturing Assets' brownfield project design and Management of Change (MOC) processes. This role is crucial in handling a high volume of vendor queries regarding the procurement of mechanical and piping items, particularly valves . The Package Engineer will review queries and determine if a revised or similar item is suitable as a replacement. This role reports to the Mechanical Designs Engineering Team Lead . Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain mechanical standards and specifications for vendor and procurement packages. Work closely with the Project Engineering and Turnaround (TAR) teams to develop specifications and material requisitions (MR). Review technical quotes and bids from manufacturers and suppliers. Evaluate and approve technical deviations and queries from vendors. Assess and endorse positions on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) . Review and approve vendor drawings, Master Document Register (MDR), and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) . Collaborate with stakeholders in LNG assets, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Technical Authorities (TAs) to assess the impact of deviations and changes (Replace in Kind vs. MOC) before approval. Work with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Material Management, and other teams to ensure work priorities align with business drivers (Turnaround, Maintenance Planning). Provide engineering support for rotating machinery-related procurement queries. Track incoming vendor queries (PQs) and coordinate with SCM teams on backlog management. Analyze PQ trends to shape team priorities and skillsets. Offer feedback and improvement recommendations on mechanical specifications to TA and SMEs . Engage and communicate with Job Owners, SCM/Buyers, and SMEs when identifying fabricated items such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, special pipe spools, sample probes, etc.
