Role & responsibilities

As a OutSystem Lead, the candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of a scalable and high-performance application. They will work in collaboration with a team of full-stack developers in a Scrum-based environment, under the guidance of a Business Application Owner.

The Lead Developer will play a critical role in ensuring the technical quality of the application by promoting best practices, ensuring secure coding standards, and optimizing performance. The candidate is expected to mentor team members, provide technical leadership, and act as the primary point of contact for technical challenges. A deep understanding of the business domain and the ability to translate complex functional requirements into scalable technical solutions are essential for success in this role. This role also requires firsthand technical expertise to address challenges in system design and database architecture. The ideal candidate will be initiative-taking, meticulous, and committed to delivering high-quality software solutions that align with business needs.

Preferred candidate profile

1.Overall, 10 + years in application development, and more than 5+ years of OutSystems development experience with mobile, reactive web apps.

2.Required certifications: OutSystems Associate Reactive Developer (must have), OutSystems Tech Lead (must have) and other OutSystems Specialization certification (good to have)

3.Strong knowledge of OutSystems development and architectural best practices for reactive web and Mobile development

4.Proficiency in creating UML diagrams and data models.

5.Expertise in integrating OutSystems apps with external systems and consuming/exposing REST and SOAP webservices.

6.Experience with AI mentor studio, Discovery tool, technical debt management, and Lifetime.

7.Multi-lingual and multi-tenant app delivery using built-in features.

8.Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.

9.Effective project team management and coaching for quality assurance and technical support.

10.Solution-oriented with the ability to translate business requirements into working solution proposals.

11.Strong resilience and organizational skills.

12.Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Learning Curve: The candidate is expected to quickly acquire deep knowledge of the applications technical and business context.
  • Team Leadership: The candidate will mentor and guide the development team, ensuring they follow best practices in coding, design, and testing.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Close collaboration with Product Owners (POs), test leads, and business stakeholders to refine user stories, resolve ambiguities, and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Technical Ownership: The candidate will own the design, development, and delivery of complex modules, ensuring the application is secure, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Code Quality and Security: The candidate is expected to advocate secure coding practices and leverage cyber security matrix to improve code quality and detect vulnerabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with emerging technologies and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the application and development processes

  • Function as a mentor and guide to the development team, ensuring adherence to coding standards and promoting a culture of technical excellence.
  • Actively participate in and lead all Agile ceremonies daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, demos, and refinements.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners (POs), developers, and other stakeholders to refine user stories and provide technical insights.
  • Estimate user stories, allocate tasks, and guide team members during refinement and sprint planning.
  • Implement user stories with clean, maintainable, and secure code.
  • Design scalable and reliable architecture while ensuring adherence to security and performance benchmarks.
