Orthoptist

You will be joining a large multi-disciplinary team at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as an Orthoptist. Your primary responsibilities will include working across various clinical settings including adult motility, paediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology, stroke, and oculoplastics. In addition, you will be supporting the ophthalmology acute referral centre and conducting pre-school vision screening in nurseries. The departmental base is at Gartnavel General Hospital, but you will also work in acute centers and community settings. **Key Responsibilities:** - Work autonomously in specialist clinics with support and mentorship - Provide care in adult and pediatric shared care clinics - Demonstrate excellent communication skills and effective team-working - Participate in continuous professional development and actively seek learning opportunities - Plan and organize patient care efficiently - Utilize computer programs for office work and patient administration **Qualifications Required:** - Hold a degree or diploma in Orthoptics and be HCPC registered with exemptions for Orthoptists - Have a minimum of 1 year post-graduate clinical experience - Documented evidence of up-to-date CPD and a desire to develop knowledge and skills - Proficient in office programs and patient administration systems In addition to core roles, there are opportunities for advanced practice roles within neuro-ophthalmology and adult motility services, as well as extended roles in Stroke and Glaucoma.
