Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of imaging studies (X-rays, MRI, CT scans).
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including trauma, degenerative joint diseases, sports injuries, and congenital or developmental disorders.
  • Perform surgical procedures such as joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder), arthroscopic surgeries, spine stabilization, fracture fixation, and corrective surgeries for spinal deformities.
  • Provide specialized care in pediatric orthopedics, including treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip, scoliosis, and limb deformities.
  • Manage complex cases involving bone tumors, hand and foot/ankle pathologies, and osteoporosis-related fractures through both surgical and conservative approaches.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency trauma response as required.
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic techniques, technologies, and evidence-based practices through continuous education and professional development.

Requirements

  • MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery (MS Ortho or equivalent).
  • Fellowship or training experience in at least two of the following subspecialties: Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, Spine Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, or Hand Surgery.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in trauma surgery, fracture fixation, and management of acute musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Hands-on experience in performing joint replacement surgeries (hip, knee, shoulder) and arthroscopic procedures.
  • Familiarity with spine deformity correction techniques (e.g., scoliosis, kyphosis) and osteoporosis management protocols.
  • Strong understanding of bone tumor surgery principles and multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making, surgical precision, and patient communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, including emergency trauma settings.
  • Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent) and relevant state medical council license.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
