Exadata / ExaCC Patching Specialist (Oracle DBA)

Key Responsibilities

Exadata & ExaCC patching lifecycle

• Perform

  Quarterly Maintenance Release (QMR)

  and

  Security Monthly Maintenance (SMR)

  patching
• Plan, schedule, and execute

  OCI patch cycles

  for ExaCC infrastructure & OS images
• Create and manage

  infrastructure maintenance policies & windows

• Prepare pre-patching validation, backups, and rollback strategies
  
• Use

  OCI Console, CLI, REST APIs

  for patching, rollback, and monitoring
• Automate patching workflows using

  Terraform, Ansible

• Manage

  LCM Fleet Maintenance

  via OEM, including gold image creation & deployment
• Perform

  PSU/CPU

  and third-party patching with minimal downtime
• Troubleshoot patch-related issues and perform

  RCA

• Ensure compliance with

  security, vulnerability management, and ITIL processes

• Maintain detailed documentation of patch procedures, schedules, and standards
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle OCP

  , Exadata Management, or OCI Architect certification
• Experience with

  LCM Fleet maintenance

  using OEM
• Patch management for OMS & OEM Agents
  
• Worked in

  large-scale, mission-critical

  environments
• Security awareness for patching & vulnerability compliance
  
• Familiarity with

  Qualys, Brinqa

  , or other vulnerability scanning tools

Collaboration Expectations

• Coordinate with global IT teams (India & US)
  
• Support weekend/evening maintenance as required
  
• Work with business teams for patch planning & communication
