Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Excellence

• Overall responsibility for

  Roaster operations

  (Fluid Bed Roaster / Multi-Hearth Roaster).
• Ensure

  stable roasting

  , maintaining optimum:
• Bed temperature
  
• Oxygen potential
  
• SO concentration
  
• Calcine quality (S, Zn, Fe parameters)
  
• Achieve daily, monthly, and annual

  production targets

  as per business plan.
• Optimize

  fuel, power, air, and oxygen consumption

  .
• Monitor and improve

  roaster availability and campaign life

  .

2. Process Control & Optimization

• Develop and implement

  SOPs, control philosophies, and best operating practices

  .
• Analyze process deviations, trips, and bottlenecks; drive

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with

  DCS/Automation teams

  for logic improvement and alarm rationalization.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives like

  TPM, Six Sigma, and Lean

  .

3. Maintenance & Reliability

• Coordinate closely with

  Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation

  teams for:
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance
  
• Shutdown planning and execution
  
• Equipment reliability (Blowers, ESPs, Cyclones, Coolers, Feed systems)
  
• Ensure readiness and smooth execution of

  planned shutdowns and turnarounds

  .

4. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

• Ensure strict compliance with

  Process Safety Management (PSM)

  .
• Enforce

  HIRA, HAZOP, SOP adherence, and Permit to Work systems

  .
• Ensure compliance with

  environmental norms

  (SO emissions, dust, effluents).
• Drive safety culture through audits, training, and incident investigations.
  

5. People Management & Leadership

• Lead and mentor

  Shift Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Operators

  .
• Ensure skill development, competency mapping, and succession planning.
  
• Maintain high levels of discipline, morale, and accountability.
  
• Conduct performance reviews and support HR initiatives.
  

6. Coordination with Other Sections

• Ensure seamless coordination with:
  

• Raw Material Handling (RMH)

• Acid Plant

• Leaching Section

• Utilities & Power

• Ensure consistent quality and quantity of calcine to downstream processes.
  

7. Statutory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with

  Factory Act, SPCB, PESO, DGMS (if applicable)

  .
• Support audits from statutory bodies and internal/external agencies.
  
• Maintain all operational records and reports.
