Role Title: Operations Manager
Location (Country / City ) : India/ Bangalore
The Opportunity
- Timely, consistent and accurate coding, recording, monitoring and storage of traded market documentation information in accordance with Group and local policies.
- Ensure that completed documentation provides appropriate credit and legal protection for the Bank.
- Role has a profile of MO or as a subject matter expert (SME). As an MO is responsible for the day today performance of the team, team's individual performance, leave management, performance management. As a SME, acts as the first point of contact for any query. Ensure timely production and distribution, as appropriate, of relevant.
What You'll Do
Impact on the Business/Function
- Proactively develop understanding of the business and product area thus creating a knowledge base
- Manage requests towards completion of task in a timely manner and that any project/ ad hoc / remedial work is completed within agreed timeframes
- Ensure the off-shore and on-shore teams operate and engage as a single virtual team.
- Responsible for conceptualizing and creation of robust MIS for business head and business partners to facility effective performance monitoring and review
- Responsible for the development of through team through coaching/counseling and identifying appropriate training & development requirements and to lead and motivate staff with widely differing aspirations working in productivity based environment where deadlines are critical
- Has a good understanding of HSBC group, GBM SC and business line strategy which impacts their team.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Proactively develop understanding of the business and product area thus creating a knowledge base with in the team.
- Develop and manage relationships with onshore business partners.
- Work closely with all client on-boarding functions to develop and vet new business requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Working closely with the Assistant Managers providing support and coverage as appropriate
- Takes responsibility for the delivery of superior service and ensures that their team meets the highest level of service expectations.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Ensure that deadlines set for Markets Middle Office are met
- Ensure completeness & accuracy of submitted data
- Assist in the development of strategic tools
- Perform a thorough review of the final data expected to be submitted by Markets Middle Office to downstream users (e.g. Collateral Management Team).
- Has a detailed understanding of the activity life cycle/products and/or processes, inherent risks specific to their area and the application of control principles (e.g. segregation of duties).
- Undertakes all mandatory risk and regulatory training relevant to their role
Experience
- Having operations experience, along with Power Bi is added advantage.
- Graduate / Post graduate Law Graduation (desired), Having experince of handling projects
- Experience of successfully managing teams of highly skilled individuals; able to motivate and set the tone for the team. Has a detailed understanding of the activity life cycle/products and/or processes, inherent risks specific to their area and the application of control principles (e.g. segregation of duties).
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy, including the Group Compliance Policy.
- Ability to comprehend and minimize operational risks including wide understanding of audit controls and compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- This position is expected to coordinate with various HSBC functions, namely: Front Office Risk Analytics, Markets Middle Office, Product Control, Traded Risk Management, Collateral Management & Compliance.
- Ability to manage and develop a team staff across a diverse range of processes within an operational environment.
- Evidence of strategy design implementation with sound understanding of internal / external business environment.
