Job: Operations Manager- Wind Division India

Mission Statement:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for manufacturing operations of Hydraulic Power Packs , Cooling Systems , Hydraulic Piston Accumulators , Hydraulic Cylinders & Brakes which are supplied as OEM Equipment to various customers in the Wind Turbine Industry and Industrial Hydraulics Domain

Operational Leadership:

Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products while maintaining quality standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with broader organizational goals.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.

Resource Management:

Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to achieve production targets and project deadlines.

Forecast resource needs based on project demands and departmental goals.

Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize productivity.

Quality Assurance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.

Implement quality control measures to maintain product/service quality and customer satisfaction.

Monitor safety practices and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement lean methodologies.

Analyze workflows and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for streamlining.

Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Coordination with customers on any Quality Related matter.

Team Management and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.

Coordination with Sales /Purchase & Quality department to meet the Company Objectives

New Product Introduction

Take Lead in NPI projects of the company.

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Ensure effective communication among project stakeholders.

Vendor and Supplier Relations:

Collaborate with procurement to manage relationships with suppliers & vendors.

Reporting and Communication:

Prepare regular reports on departmental performance, project status, and key metrics.

Communicate operational updates and challenges to senior management.

Budget and Cost Control:

Manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

Risk Management:

Identify potential operational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and establish contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

Skills -(Experience & Education)

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Knowledge of the Hydraulics industry / Previous manufacturing experience

Experience: 15 years + in similar roles

Proven experience in operations management within the engineering industry

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Analytical thinking and strategic planning capabilities.
