Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Operation Theater Technician to join our team in Bangalore on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the operation theater while supporting surgical teams in delivering safe patient care.
Qualifications And Skills
- Surgical Instrumentation (Mandatory skill): Demonstrated experience in handling, preparing, and maintaining surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures.
- Surgical Setup (Mandatory skill): Proficiency in accurately setting up operative fields and equipment according to surgical requirements and protocols.
- Specimen Handling (Mandatory skill): Proven ability in correct labeling, preservation, and transport of surgical specimens to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Aseptic Technique: Thorough understanding and application of principles and practices to maintain a sterile environment and minimize infection risks.
- Team Collaboration: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in high-pressure settings.
- Sterilization Procedures: In-depth knowledge of sterilization methods for surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with hospital guidelines.
- Anesthesia Assistance: Ability to competently assist anesthesiologists during perioperative care, including equipment preparation and patient monitoring.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and vigilance when preparing instruments, handling samples, and ensuring all operative protocols are meticulously followed.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theater by arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the type of surgery scheduled.
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques throughout the operative process to prevent infections and complications.
- Handle and transport surgical specimens in accordance with hospital protocols for diagnostic and pathological examination.
- Monitor the condition and functionality of surgical equipment; promptly address and report maintenance or repair requirements.
- Support in managing surgical consumables inventory, preparing materials for upcoming procedures, and ensuring no shortages.
- Prepare patients for surgery and provide assistance during anesthesia induction under the supervision of medical staff.
- Ensure post-operative cleaning, equipment sterilization, and proper disposal of medical waste in compliance with hospital safety standards.
