The Chemo Ward Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This role involves assessing patients' health conditions, administering chemotherapy drugs, monitoring patients for side effects, and providing education and support to patients and their families. The nurse will collaborate with the oncology team to develop and implement individualized care plans and ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients during their treatment.
Roles and Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy and other intravenous medications as prescribed by the oncologist.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and side effects during and after treatment. - Conduct patient assessments and document vital signs, symptoms, and treatment responses. - Educate patients and families about chemotherapy, potential side effects, and self-care strategies. - Assist in the management of symptoms and provide palliative care as needed. - Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with hospital policies. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans. - Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control protocols. - Participate in patient and staff education programs related to chemotherapy and oncology nursing.
