Assess the patient's vital signs and lab data to determine emergency intervention needs. Set up monitors, medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors, ventilators and alarms, oxygen delivery devices and transducers. Assist physicians with procedures such as endotracheal intubation, elective cardioversion, bronchoscopy, endoscopy and ICD insertion etc. Monitor patients for changes in status like pupillary reaction, GCS and indication of condition such as sepsis/ shock and institute appropriate interventions. Conduct nursing intervention like wound drainage, catheterization, suctioning to delegated patients within the scope of practice. .Assess the patient's psychological status and needs including areas such as sleep pattern, anxiety, grief and anger. Collaborate with other health care professionals to develop and revise treatment plan based on identified needs and assessment data. Assess the patient's pain level and sedation requirement. Document patients medical history and assessment findings, treatment plans, intervention, outcome/plan revision. Identify patients who are at risk of complications due to nutritional status.

Reviews physicians order for dialysis patients, collect pre-treatment dialysis data and reviews patients record prior to dialysis. Verifies that patients are taking all prescribed medications and performs medication reconciliation. Maintains skills necessary to perform surveillance on dialysis access for early signs of failure or infections. Conduct post dialysis assessment such as vascular access, vital signs and post dialysis fluid balance. Oversees disassembly and disinfection of dialysis equipment. Demonstrates an in depth understanding of infection control and prevention of transmission of blood borne pathogens.
