Reporting Manager: Manager Fire & Safety /Building Manger
Description
Fire Pump Room Responsibility: -
- Ensure that all pumps are in working condition/Auto mode
- Ensure Pressure gauges are working
- Checking Gong bell
- Check diesel pump engine oil condition/level
- Check diesel engine battery condition
- Ensure all valves of pump room should be in open condition
- Ensure diesel tank levels should be 80% above
- Ensure daily checklist has to be signed by shift fire man
- Ensure all First Aid and Fire Fighting Equipments are serviceable 24/7
- Ensure fire water tank level
- Beacon light should be in working condition of pumps- check
- Ensure all the pumps should be leakage free
Smoke Ventilation System/Pressurization System Responsibility: -
- Ensure all fresh air fans in auto mode
- Ensure all smoke exhaust fans in auto mode
- Ensure all pressurization fans are in auto mode
- Ensure all Normal Exhaust fans are in auto mode
Common Responsibility: -
- Conduct Evacuation drill of Building
- Emergency response plan for clients in case of any emergency
- Ensure Smooth Operation of Traffic
- Check Guards duties and posts
- Training/ briefing of Guards on Fire safety and security
- Inspecting hot work areas
- Checking PPE at the site
- Issue Different Types of permits
- Checking and inspection with safety standards of fit out area
- Equipment maintenance of fire and security
- To check All indicator bulbs
- To check Mat in front of electrical panel
- To check Drain condition
- Appropriate signages (no smoking, floor signs, panic bar, floor layout, exit signage).
- Lift lobby clear (all fire exits clear from any obstacles)
- To break hammer in place for FHC
- Documentation check and maintenance of all equipment and systems
- Checking the terrace area and staircase
- Checking all emergency exits in the building
- Conducting Evacuation drill of clients on quarterly basis
- Attending HSE- Meetings and addressing HSE issues
- Participating in all near miss, incident and accident investigations
- Participating in emergency exercises
- Requesting that all incidents are investigated promptly and take appropriate steps for preventing recurrence
- Attend safety committee meetings
- Ensure so observation completion on time
- Spread safety procedures & safety awareness across down team
- ALL fire line valves in open condition (hydrant line and sprinkler line) to be checked
- To be observant towards any unsafe act & prevent the same, Bring the
- same to the notice of management as required and follow engineering guidelines and Safety management system
Roles, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountability (RRAA) in relation to OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety)
Roles in OH&S:
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with the DLF HSE Policy.
- Oversee and support the effective implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Coordinate OH&S efforts within the team, including training, compliance, documentation, and emergency preparedness.
- Serve as a frontline safety leader in risk identification, communication, and corrective action.
Responsibilities in OH&S:
- Ensure DLF HSE Policy is clearly understood and followed by self and all team members.
- Implement and communicate DLF Safety standards, SOPs, EGs, and OH&S procedures across the team.
- Monitor achievement of individual and team OH&S objectives within defined timelines.
- Identify workplace risks and ensure control measures (e.g., OSRA, JSA, HIRA, TBT) are implemented and communicated.
- Ensure participation in Employee Consultation Forums and other OH&S meetings is active and effective.
- Ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents, near misses (NMCs), and safety observations (SOs) in line with IISC/SO procedures.
- Ensure work is conducted by Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and corresponding risk assessments.
- Attend and ensure team participation in training sessions as per TNI and annual plan.
- Maintain, track, and update all OH&S and fire safety documents as per assigned responsibilities.
- Oversee maintenance and updates of fire protection and prevention systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, suppression systems, etc.) per DLF standards.
Authority in OH&S:
- Authorities to stop unsafe work and raise safety concerns without delay.
- Authority to enforce OH&S compliance, including fire safety protocols and legal standards.
- Authority to request training, maintenance, or resources necessary for maintaining fire and general safety standards.
- Authority to conduct inspections or initiate reviews of high-risk or non-compliant areas.
- Authority to escalate unresolved risks to the HSE department or management.
Accountability in OH&S:
- Accountable for ensuring full compliance with the DLF Safety Management System.
- Accountable for the performance and readiness of all fire protection and prevention systems.
- Accountable for the implementation of risk controls and verification of their effectiveness.
- Accountable for ensuring OH&S documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit ready.
- Accountable for training completion, incident reporting, and team awareness of safety obligations.
- Accountable for driving a culture of safety and prevention within the team and across work locations.
- To identify risk at his workplace, control measures are implemented and communicated to concerned employees.
- Participation in Employee Consultation Forum and other OH&S related meetings.
- To report all incidents, NMCs and SOs that have occurred are reported and take participation as per IISC, SO procedures.
- To ensure work is carried out as per the Permit to Work standard and also implementation of all identified control measures as per risk assessment (OSRA, JSA, HIRA, TBT, etc.)
