Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Office Manager located in New Delhi. The primary responsibility entails the effective management of the office administration, the supervision and development of the local merchandizing team – including the evaluation of potential vendors, new products, negotiation of purchase terms and conditions as well as quality inspections – performed by the New Delhi office.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and manage the local merchandizing team in New Delhi.
  • Effectively manage the office administration, cost and sales, personnel and IT matters.
  • Evaluate potential vendors and new products; negotiate purchases, perform pre-shipment quality inspections and order follow-up.
  • Source new products by utilizing local market capabilities to its full extend.
  • Develop suppliers in terms of quality assurance and social accountability.
  • Establish and organize effective and efficient workflow, in line with company-wide processes and guidelines.
  • Regularly communicate with the Regional Headquarters in Hong Kong.


Characteristics of Candidate

  • Qualification: University graduate or above, study or work in Europe is an advantage
  • Bilingual; fluent in English. German, any additional language is seen as added value.
  • 5-10 years successful working experience in buying office in India for European customers, as Senior Merchandise Manager and/or Office Manager.
  • Profound knowledge of the India sourcing market and very well connected to quality manufacturers. Knowledge of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other sourcing markets are seen as an added value
  • Familiar with the trends, quality requirements, aspects of sustainability and requirements in the retail market in Central Europe.
  • Experience in running a small buying office, including administration and infrastructure, preferably with sourcing experience in apparels, home-textile, decoration, gardening, furniture and food products.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated; with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player, Team leader.
  • Dynamic/diligent; hands-on doer with result orientation. Strong wish to perform perfectly.
  • Organized, responsible, reliable and flexible.
  • Excellent communicator
