Role Purpose

functional owner and solution architect

This role is accountable for:

• Designing and governing the

  Group Chart of Accounts

• Defining costing, intercompany transfers, and margins

• Ensuring ZATCA compliance

• Translating business operations into scalable Odoo functional designs

• Managing the ERP project lifecycle from blueprint to go-live

business-facing leadership role

Key Responsibilities1. ERP Program Ownership

• Own the

  end-to-end functional delivery

  of Odoo ERP
• Act as the

  single point of accountability

  between business, finance, operations, and technical teams
• Drive the project through

  blueprint, build, test, pilot, and rollout phases

• Enforce scope control and change management

2. Group Chart of Accounts (Critical Responsibility)

• Design a

  single, standardized Group Chart of Accounts

  for all subsidiaries
• Ensure alignment with:
• IFRS / local statutory requirements
• ZATCA VAT reporting
• Management reporting needs
• Define:
• Mandatory vs optional accounts
• Intercompany account structure
• Cost center and analytic dimensions (brand, branch, production line)
• Govern CoA changes post go-live

3. Costing & Inventory Accounting

• Define and implement:
• Weighted average costing
• Standard costing for intercompany transfers
• BOM-based production costing
• Semi-finished and finished goods valuation
• Handle:
• Cost variance analysis
• Margin controls
• COGS accuracy at branch and brand level
• Ensure inventory valuation integrity across warehouses and subsidiaries

4. Intercompany & Transfer Pricing

• Design intercompany flows:
• Warehouse ? Production
• Production ? Branch
• Central procurement ? subsidiaries
• Configure:
• Transfer pricing with margin
• Intercompany eliminations (conceptual level)
• Internal invoicing or transfer-only models
• Ensure clean reconciliation across entities

5. Manufacturing & Operations

• Translate food production processes into Odoo:
• Recipes / BOMs
• WIP and semi-finished goods
• Production lines and supervisors
• Waste recording and approval
• Enable:
• Waste % reporting
• Yield analysis
• Production performance tracking

6. POS, Pricing & Loyalty

• Lead functional setup of Odoo POS:
• Multi-branch POS
• Price lists (quantity-based, customer-based)
• Loyalty programs
• Petty cash handling
• Ensure seamless integration between POS, inventory, and accounting
• Manage offline POS risk mitigation and reconciliation processes

7. ZATCA & Compliance (High Priority)

• Ensure

  100% compliance

  with Saudi ZATCA requirements:
• POS e-invoicing
• QR codes
• Invoice sequencing
• Audit trails
• Coordinate testing and validation before go-live
• Design historical invoice

  archival strategy

  for audits
• Act as the functional authority for any ZATCA-related change

8. Controls, Audit & Governance

• Design approval workflows for:
• Purchases
• Transfers
• Waste
• Expenses
• Ensure:
• Full audit trail visibility
• System notes and logs enabled
• Role-based access control
• Support internal and external audits

9. Data Migration & Cutover

• Define data migration strategy:
• Opening balances
• Inventory quantities
• Master data (customers, vendors, items)
• Validate migrated data accuracy
• Support cutover planning and execution

10. Stakeholder & Team Management

• Lead workshops with:
• Finance
• Operations
• Supply chain
• HR
• Guide junior consultants and functional team members
• Translate business language into functional requirements and vice versa
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly

Industry Experience (Mandatory)

• Food & Beverage manufacturing
• Retail / restaurant chains
• Multi-branch POS environments

Compliance & Regional Knowledge

• Saudi VAT / ZATCA compliance experience (mandatory)
• Experience handling audits and statutory reporting

Soft Skills

• Strong ownership mindset

• Calm under pressure during go-live
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders

Success Metrics (KPIs)

• Clean go-live with

  no ZATCA violations

• Accurate stock and cost reporting post go-live

• Single, stable Group CoA adopted across subsidiaries

• Minimal post-go-live financial corrections

• On-time rollout within agreed timeline

Nice-to-Have

• Experience migrating from NetSuite or Foodics
• Prior leadership role in ERP transformation programs
• Arabic language skills (advantage)
