Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of existing client observability architectures to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Design and implement effective log aggregation pipelines ensuring centralized, scalable, and efficient log collection.
• Build and configure event correlation frameworks to intelligently group and prioritize alerts, reducing alert fatigue and improving incident response times.
• Implement noise reduction techniques to filter irrelevant or false-positive alerts, enhancing operational focus on genuine issues.
• Develop, tune, and maintain monitoring and observability dashboards that provide actionable insights across applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and platform teams to integrate observability tools with existing CI/CD workflows and cloud infrastructure.
• Advocate observability best practices including instrumentation standards, semantic conventions, and telemetry data governance.
• Analyze telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) to troubleshoot complex system behaviors, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge of log management, event correlation, distributed tracing, and alert management.
• Stay up to date on observability innovations, tools, and industry trends and recommend adoption strategies tailored to client environments.
• Support post-incident reviews and continuous improvement through data-driven root-cause analysis enabled by observability systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 5+ years of IT experience with 3+ years of experience in

  observability

  , monitoring, or related infrastructure/control systems roles.
• Proven expertise in setting up and managing log aggregation systems (

  ELK

  /EFK stack,

  Splunk

  , or equivalent).
• Experience with event correlation platforms and techniques to

  reduce alert noise

  and support operational excellence.
• Hands-on experience with observability standards and tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry,

  Splunk

  ,

  Datadog

  , or New Relic.
• Understanding of distributed tracing, metrics collection, log parsing, and analysis methodologies.
• Strong skills in

  scripting/programming (Python, Go, Bash, or similar) for automation and tooling enhancements.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse technical teams and clients.
• Experience conducting gap assessments and crafting observability improvement roadmaps and implementation plans is highly desirable.
• Consulting or client-facing experience in complex IT environments will be a plus.
