Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

Patient care and quality assurance:

Ensuring high standards of patient care and safety across all nursing units.
Conducting rounds to inspect care quality and the cleanliness and orderliness of wards.
Overseeing infection control and waste management.
Acting as a member of committees, such as the diet committee.

Staff management and development:

Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising nursing staff.
Creating work schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
Managing staff discipline and handling complaints.
Planning and organizing in-service and continuing education programs for staff.

Administrative and financial management:

Formulating nursing policies and procedures.
Managing the nursing department's budget.
Overseeing the necessary supplies and equipment for nursing care.
Maintaining and supervising the maintenance of various nursing records.

Coordination and communication:

Collaborating with other department heads and hospital administrators.
Acting as a liaison between the nursing department and other organizations or the community.
Implementing and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and rules.
